Its all over for 2011

My last class for 2011 was at Sparkle Dreams, and I taught a Christmas themed class. It was the only Christmas class that I had taught during December. To be honest I am never much of a fan of themed christmas papers but this particular range from Echo Park caught my attention, especially the tartan!!

We had a lovely morning, which also included chocolates, festive biscuits and Christmas cupcakes!! Anyway here is the layout……..

This will probably be my last post of 2011, so I want to wish all my readers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and I will be back in the new year with sneak peeks for lots of new class for Sparkle Dreams, The Stamp Attic and PaperArts.

This is just a quick post to show you the class that I taught at The Stamp Attic yesterday. We used the pretty Prima Melody papers and another gorgeous set of the Studio 490 stamps.

Keep Calm and Keep Smiling

Just a quick post to share with you the layout that I taught at PaperArts on Saturday. The new Teresa Collins papers are gorgeous and so lovely to work with. It was fun to work with the Letraset Alcohol Inks too to create a slide for the title.

Also my blog post went live at Sarahs Cards on Saturday, this month it is about scrapbooking your Christmas photographs on non-festive papers. Here are my pages, which I have scrapped in 8.5 x 11, which I haven’t done for so long!

Although I am sure we will be buying more than we sell!!

I had a lovely day with Wendy at The Stamp Attic on Saturday. I taught this class …

…using some of the Jillibean Soup Chilled Strawberry Soup papers, Authentique alphabets and these gorgeous Studio 490 Natures Art stamps….

I feel so lucky that I have the chance to play with a different set of these stamps each month, they are gorgeous!! I am back at The Stamp Attic on 10th December and next month I’ll be teaching a class using Prima papers, sneak peek coming soon!

Don’t forget I am at PaperArts on 16th November, places are still available. Remember you can spend the whole day scrapbooking from 10am-5pm with a class between 11am-1pm. I’ll leave you with the sneak peek (again) just as a reminder!

Recent Classes and Sneak Peeks

Just a quick update to show you some recent classes I’ve taught and a couple of sneak peeks to show you what is coming up soon!

First though I will share a page I have done for Sarahs Cards Blog, my blog post this month was about the versatility of sketches, and I scrapped a page using American Crafts Garden Café papers.

This page is an autumn themed layout I taught at PaperArts in October, using the Bo Bunny Forever Fall range, coupled with some chipboard die-cuts and embossed tag.

The second page is a class taught at Sparkle Dreams in October using my favourite Glitz papers, and some gorgeous Prima Canvas embellishments.

Now for sneak peeks! The first is a sneak for this Saturday at The Stamp Attic, using some lovely Jillibean Soup papers and another set of gorgeous stamps.

The second sneak is for my November class with PaperArts which will be on Wednesday 16th. In this class we’ll be using the Authentique Glowing range of papers, but this isn’t a halloween themed page!

I haven’t updated for over 2 weeks…oops! But I am back now with lots of sneak peeks!

The first sneak peek is for a class I am teaching at PaperArts tomorrow using the gorgeous Bo Bunny Forever Fall Papers. There are still spaces if you’d like to join us, please contact Sue in the morning!

The second sneak peek is for a class I will be teaching on Saturday 22nd October at Sparkle Dreams using the stunning Glitz Vintage Blue papers along with some Prima Resist Canvas, there are still a few spaces left on this class too, please contact the shop if you’d like to join in. Also on Saturday there is a demo day taking place at the shop, so please drop by to say hello!

Last but not least is a sneak peek for a class I will be teaching on November 5th for The Stamp Attic. This time we are creating with Jillibean Soup range of Chilled Strawberry Soup. Places are limited so get in touch with Wendy soon if you’d like to join us!

I will leave you with a Canvas class that I taught at the 48hr crop at the beginning of October. We used Distress Stains on the base and then stamped a small prima stamp with bleach over the Distress Stains to gain this fab effect. It was a fabulous weekend (very tiring lol) but great fun. And we are going to do it all again next year!!

What’s new??

Not a lot to tell the truth lol, but I am here to blog a class that I’ve recently taught and some sneak peeks for an upcoming event.

Last weekend I was at Sparkle Dreams teaching a page using some older Glitz papers, Distress Stains, Perfect Pearl Mists and some gorgeous die-cuts from the Cricut Serenade Cartridge, we had a lovely morning and everyone seemed very happy with their completed pages!

I was due to be teaching at PaperArts this Saturday 1st October, but due to trapping a nerve in my shoulder I have had to cancel it. Elaine Rolfe is now teaching in my place, so apologies to anyone who had booked in to do my class. I will be teaching later on in the month, I just need to get better first!!! Which I am hoping I will recover from this soon as on the 7th, 8th and 9th I am going to be at a local event called the 48hr Crop, and will be teaching 3 classes over the course of the weekend. I will leave you with some sneak peeks of my classes.

Long Time No Blog!!

Its been a while since I have blogged, but I am back now with lots to share! Last Sunday I taught a day workshop to 8 lovely ladies. We were able to use the premises at PaperArts to hold the day, which gave them the perfect opportunity to shop, shop, shop!! I taught 2 classes, a single page layout using Jenni Bowlin

Busy Weekend!

I had the pleasure of teaching my first class at The Stamp Attic today, it was only a small group of scrapbookers but we did have a laugh, plus Wendy had provided us with chocolate, so that certainly helped!!! I taught a page using My Minds Eye papers and some gorgeous stamps.

Its Cake Time Again

Once again it was my turn to post at Creative Cookbooking and I created a page and supplied a recipe for Red Velvet Cakes. I made this in June when I had a Virgin Vie party, and what was left over was soon gobbled up by my kids!!

Lots to Share!!

I have great news! I’ll be teaching my first class for Wendy at The Stamp Attic in Wantage on 3rd September! I am so looking forward to working with Wendy, and her shop has so many gorgeous goodies in it, its hard to resist!!

Well the summer holidays are in full swing, and on Tuesday we headed to Gloucester on the train. It was a scorching hot day and we were all a bit worn out from the heat but enjoyed the visit to the docks, a boat trip and a look around the Cathedral (where some of the Harry Potter movies were filmed). Sneak Peek & Cards!!

I wanted to share with you the sneak peek for my class at PaperArts on August 27th, we’ll be using the lovely Jenni Bowlin papers, and I will be teaching how to make a doily border using a Martha Stewart punch.

I had some thank you cards to make for Hannah’s teachers and decided to have a play with my Distress Inks. Its not something I’ve done alot of, so these aren’t brilliant (in my opinion) but I enjoyed the process of making them and getting very inky fingers!!

Online Cropping!

I am loving the fact that I now have a little more time to scrapbook for myself. I used to enjoy the Wednesday night Online Crop with Kirsty, but with deadlines etc I just stopped having enough time. So I was back on Wednesday, logged on at 8pm to Kirstys Blog to get the sketch, which I loved and U-Stream to watch Kirsty scrap and chat to everyone else!

I wasn’t as quick as everyone else, and certainly wasn’t finished by 10pm (more like 11.30pm) but I loved what I created, using a photo that Mum had taken of me and Hannah earlier this year. Plus I managed to break into a kit containing a mix of Prima and Bo Bunny that I’d been itching to use!!

I’m busy teaching on Wednesday and Saturday next week, and I hope to see some of you there!!

Summer Day Workshop and Chocolate Cake!

I am holding a Summer Day Workshop on Sunday August 21st. This time it is being held at the premises of PaperArts near Stroud in Gloucestershire thanks to Sue and Irené. This is not a PaperArts event, so booking will not be available through their website.

Stamping and Walking!!

Friday night was crop night for North Swindon Craft Club, and we had fun with Shimmer Mists and Stamps! I’d bought this gorgeous Prima stamp at Ally Pally earlier this year….

…and wanted to use it on a layout, so I incorporated it into a class to show how to use stamps to create your own embellishments. Anyway here is what I created also using papers from a kit that I’d won in a bingo game at the Scrapagogo To You at the start of this month..

On Saturday 25th June I walked a 10k sponsored Starlight Walk with my good friend Sam to raise money for the Prospect Hospice. It was a fantastic night, with a really great atmosphere. I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone that sponsored me and helped me to raise £152!! We walked 10k in 1 hour 45 minutes, which I was really happy with. I had very sore feet Sunday though LOL!!

Class Catch-Up

With June nearly over its almost crop night for the North Swindon Craft Club, and this month I am teaching a class using stamping to create embellishments. Here is a sneak peek.

Last week I taught 2 classes. The first on on Wednesday at Sparkle Dreams, and we created a pretty page using Woodware “Fluffy Stuff” to embellish punched daisies and made rosette flowers. The paper range is My Minds Eye Lime Twist.

Then on Saturday I was back at PaperArts teaching a class using Bo Bunny Timepiece collection, and here we made some fabulous flowers using a 6 petal punch and a water spritzer! I have dates booked each month with PaperArts now and you can find all of my dates on their website or in the sidebar on my blog.

Also I am running a Day Workshop on August 14th. It is being held on the PaperArts premises, where you will have the use of the shop all day long. “Me” Time

Its been so long since I sat down in the evening and scrapped a layout because I wanted to, and use whatever products I wanted to. I’d almost forgotten how to!!!

My dear friend Gabi has just joined the Design Team for the The Color Room and although I’d joined up at the site when it first launched, I’d never taken part. So I went to take a look and just loved the colour palette for this week, and decided to do a layout! I decided to use some Websters Pages paper (which usually scare me LOL) and to do something a little different, and here is what I came up with.

I’ll definitely be checking back in at The Color Room next week, and from now on take some time out to remind myself why I love this hobby!

Kits and Farewell

Its reveal time again at My Creative Scrapbook for the June Kits. I had the Creative Kit this month, which is full of Fancy Pants Beach Bum and Beach Babe. Here is what I’ve created.

This is my last kit with My Creative Scrapbook. After 3 years I’ve decided to leave the kit club Design Team, and concentrate on my teaching work….and whatever else turns up around the next corner!!

Spring Workshop

Saturday was the North Swindon Craft Clubs Spring Workshop. It was a fabulous day, with lots of busy scrappers doing 2 classes along with lots of shopping, as Sue from PaperArts brought along a fantastic selection of goodies for everyone to buy.
In the morning I taught a layout class using Fancy Pants “Its All the Little Things” paper range (provided by PaperArts), with lots of handcutting and pleated paper. We also used a gorgeous Sepia Mist Spray donated by Sarah Hurley designs for the class.

We stopped for lunch and then sold raffle tickets. The raffle was for the local church who are trying to raise sponsorship for a group of teenagers, to go and work in a Romanian Orphanage this summer. I originally thought they were going to Ghana, but that is happening now, so we raised awareness for the next trip.
The second class I taught was a mini book using Nikki Sivils “We Are Family” range. A very cute book with 2 pull-out pages for extra photos.

At the end of the day we drew the raffle and everyone won some fabulous prizes. I would like to say thank you to everyone that donated.

Sunday Fun!

What a great morning I had at PaperArts on Sunday. One of my priorities for myself this year is to go and take some classes, I feel the need to be refreshed and inspired and what better way to do it!

So I booked myself into a class with Kirsty Wiseman to do a canvas, using Glimmer Mists, stamping, embossing and lots of mess!! Myself, Rachel, Tina S, Tina G and Judy sat together and were a little bit noisy LOL, but we did have a lot of fun too.

I absolutely adore this, and it was so nice to be able to “play” and do something so different. Plus it was great to meet Kirsty, after chatting online with her for years, and a big thank you to her too for putting up with us on Sunday!!!!

I am busy packing kits etc for the North Swindon Craft Clubs Workshop this Saturday coming. 21 lovely ladies are booked in for a day of scrapbooking and fun.

Then I will have the Scrapagogo “GoGo To You” on June 4th in Surrey to look forward too. I’m booked in to do 3 classes and I can’t wait!

May has been an incredibly busy month! With the 3 Jolly Scrappers Workshop last weekend and next weekend I’ll be teaching at the North Swindon Craft Clubs Spring Workshop!

I am teaching 2 classes. A layout class using Fancy Pants “Its the Little Things” (I’ve scrapped a photo that Dawn took at the 3JS workshop last weekend, thanks Dawn!)

And a mini-book class using Nikki Sivils “We are Family”

Then on the 25th and 28th May I’ll be teaching at Sparkle Dreams, doing a class using Echo Park For the Record, a gorgeous Martha Stewart punch and we’ll be adding a bit of spritz too!

Tomorrow I’m off to take a class at PaperArts with Kirsty Wiseman, it will make a nice change to be on the other side of the table and I think we’ll be getting quite inky!

3 Jolly Scrappers!

I’ve had a fabulous weekend, I spent the day with the 3 Jolly Scrappers and a group of wonderful ladies on Saturday, teaching 2 classes for Jo and Kim’s workshop.

I taught a class using Echo Park – For The Record in the morning, along with a cute handmade felt flower.

Then after a delicious lunch provided by Jo and Kim, and a raffle we made a start on the second class using Basic Grey – Hello Luscious, teamed up with Prima flowers and alphabets and rub-ons.

After the classes we headed out for a group photo, except Kim wouldn’t get in the photo, and opted to be on camera duty for everyone instead!

That evening I stayed with Dawn and we had a lovely meal and a few glasses of wine. And of course fantastic company from her very lovely family… a big thank you Dawn xx

Kit Reveal Day–My Creative Scrapbook

Its another month and another reveal day already at My Creative Scrapbook. This month I received the Album Kit to work with, full of the gorgeous My Minds Eye, Stella & Rose Gertie range.
It is a kit full of gorgeous papers and embellishments and I enjoyed creating with it. Here is what I made….

Classes Galore!

Its been a busy few weeks for me while I have been preparing classes as well as teaching a few too. The first one I have to share with you is a page I taught at PaperArts on Wednesday using papers from the lovely Echo Park Be Mine collection. It was a lovely class and it was great to meet Rachel Millington too, one of the other teachers at the shop.

The 2nd class I’ve taught this week is at the North Swindon Craft Club. I had permission from the very talented Amy Heller to replicate a page she had created for October Afternoon. I absolutely adored they way she had used her flowers and she was very happy for me to teach it to the ladies at the crop, who loved making these gorgeous flowers, so a big thank you to Amy!!

And just quickly I want to let you know that Kirsty Wiseman will be coming to PaperArts on May 15th to teach a wonderful Canvas class! There is a morning class and an afternoon class too, and it is just £25 with all the materials included!! Here is a sneak peek at what she’ll be teaching..

Cake Anyone??

It is my turn to post at the Creative Cookbooking Blog today, and I have shared a recipe and a layout of a gorgeous Chocolate and Banana Cake. This is a firm favourite with my kids, so much so that my daughter wanted it for her Birthday Cake last year! You can find the recipe HERE

The layout was made using paper from my scraps box, I felt quite proud to be using up my scraps rather than cutting into a full sheet of paper!! With the addition of some Cosmic Shimmer Mist and Prima Alphabets.

I’ll leave you with a sneak peek of the layout I’m teaching at North Swindon Craft Club on April 29th. I have been a bit cheeky this month and “borrowed” a layout and flower technique that I just loved from Amy Heller with her permission of course, that she had posted on the October Afternoon blog. I’ll tell you more about it when i post the full layout.

Lacock Abbey

Today was my first visit to Lacock, which is crazy considering how nearby it is! I went along with a good friend of mine Sam, and our little ones. We stopped at the park for a picnic then went on to the Abbey.

What a beautiful place, It was fun to see the areas where a couple of the Harry Potter movies had been filmed.

We also wandered into the village of Lacock, which is like a picture postcard (shame about all the cars though!). And also the location of some period dramas like Cranford, Pride and Prejudice, Moll Flanders and Emma.

We finished the day with cakes and ice-cream, plus 3 very tired children!!

Catching Up

Last Saturday Rachel, Dianne, Judy and Michelle headed up to the Stamp and Scrapbooking Show at Alexander Palace, London.

We all had a fabulous day, and bought lots of lovely goodies from various shops. I think we all came home with new Martha Stewart Punches! I managed to find a butterfly punch, plus a gorgeous border punch plus a few papers, stamps and shimmer mists.

It was also an opportunity to catch up with some friends, and it was lovely to meet up and have a chat to Dawn and Sara, as well as meet Facebook friends Cherry and Lesley, who were with Beverley who I hadn’t seen for a few years now!!!

PaperArts in March

I had a wonderful day on Saturday with 18 lovely scrappers and Sue the owner when I taught a class using the lovely Echo Park Springtime papers and some fabulous Nellie Snellen Embossing Punches. Sue worked so hard to keep us all in Tea and Coffee all day (and cake baked by her Mum) and also helped out punching out the stamens for the centre of the flowers (I hope her hand has recovered, mine has now!!)

I’ll be back on April 27th at PaperArts to teach another scrapbooking class, more details to follow soon. But do check out their classes and crops for April and May as Kirsty Wiseman will be coming to teach a canvas class on May 15th!!

A Scrappy Update!

I spent a fabulous day with a group of UKScrappers ladies last Saturday in a stunning Grade II listed house called Dartmouth House which was inherited by the Second Earl of Dartmouth in 1755 after marrying the Olney heiress Frances Katherine Nichol! Okay, history lesson over LOL. I taught 3 classes using Fancy Pants, Echo Park and Nikki Sivils products. Here are a few pics from the classes.

And look at these amazing cupcakes made by Sarah (and they tasted as good as they look).

These are the classes I taught, the Nikki Sivils is the same class I taught to the North Swindon Craft Club last October. I love this layout and also love to promote Nikki’s fab products here in the UK, the other 2 classes were new pages and all 3 were well received and everyone seemed to really enjoy what they created.

I spent Saturday evening and Sunday morning with the lovely Anna, and had a good catch up over a few glasses of wine, which was a lovely way to end a fabulous weekend!

Back to the present, and I have spaces on my classes at Sparkle Dreams this month, plus I’m back at PaperArts on March 19th with an Intermediate class using Echo Park Springtime and some gorgeous punches. I’ll leave you with a sneak peek!

Soda Bread and Scrapping!!

My latest layout for Creative Cookbooking went live yesterday, and with it being March I've baked and scrapped for St. Patricks Day celebrations. I baked a delicious Irish Fruit Soda Bread, which everybody loved, and I will definitely bake again and again! And to go with the recipe, which you can find at the Creative Cookbooking Blog, here is my layout that I created to show off my Soda Bread :-)

Also at the end of February I taught a class at North Swindon Craft Club, showing a masking technique, that I was reminded how to do by Tracie Hudson last year. She did a fabulous make and take at the Scrapping Angels Retreat which I took part in, and I have made my own version on this layout. This was also based on a gorgeous sketch by Julie Bonner.

Also, the North Swindon Craft Club will be having their second workshop on May 21st 2011. Its being held in the same location in Swindon, from 10.30-4.30pm. The cost for the day is £35, which includes 2 classes (including kits), a buffet lunch and refreshments all day long. OK, Just because so many of you have asked so many times…..............

My Creative Scrapbook is happy to announce:

“Our First Ever Public Guest Design Team Call”

The call is open from February 16, 2011 through March 16, 2011.

We will announce the new Guest Design Team on our blog and in our forum on April 5, 2011.

We are looking to fill spots for Guest Design Team positions but hint, hint, we have chosen our permanent DT members from our past Guest DT members.

Within these positions we are looking for skills in creating layouts, mini albums, cards, altered items and sketches.

We would like to have 2 Guest designers per month and we are hoping to find enough fantastic designers to create with us for 6 months. So that means that we need 12 Guest Designers total. Once we have made our choices then we will assign each Guest Designer their month.

We want you…”if”…you are a creative, energetic, and ambitious and want to have fun creating with us.

Our Expectations of Guest Designers:

- Open communication skill.

- Consistent style and range and ability to design and showcase our kit supplies.

- Teamwork, cooperation and the ability to meet deadlines.

- Ability to create layouts, cards and altered projects on a more experienced skill level.

- Ability to teach techniques with written instructions and/or step by step photos or video.

- Photography skills to produce clear and accurate photos of your projects.

Guest Design Team Requirements:

- Active participation in our forum including the message board and galleries. (This is a must for all.)
- 3 Layouts and 1 card/altered item per kit per month.
- Step by step picture or video tutorial to share with our members in our forum on a rotating basis using a kit.
- Head up challenges for our members in our forum on a rotating basis.
- Give a tip each month from a project you created using our kit.

- Note: We ask that you “not” Design/Guest Design for another kit club while with My Creative Scrapbook but MFG teams and Online Sketch sites…etc. are fine.

What’s in it for you?

- Each month you will receive a kit packed with the latest and greatest products to create with.
- We will post your projects in our Main DT Gallery.
- We will submit your DT projects to the Manufacturers for appreciation and exposure.
- We have a drama free environment and have lots of fun.

PaperArts and Cookbooking!

Yesterday I had a fabulous time at PaperArts near Stroud, Gloucestershire teaching a class to a lovely group of scrapbookers!

I’d created a page using the beautiful Crate Paper Restoration range, tied in with some bubble wrap painting using Making Memories paint, paper pinwheels and some handstitching too.

Also yesterday my second post went live at Creative Cookbooking Blog and I blogged about an easy to make Fudge recipe. I scrapped my page with some gorgeous Websters Pages paper that I’d had in a kit. You can see the actual blog post HERE

My Creative Scrapbook–February Kit Reveal

My Creative Scrapbook–Sneak Peeks!

I haven’t blogged for almost a month, I hadn’t realised it had been so long!! But, my little girl had the flu the last week of school, putting me a week behind in my Christmas preparations. So the week before Christmas was spent running around like a headless chicken making sure everything was ready for the big day, as well as fitting in some scrapping to ensure my DT work for My Creative Scrapbook was complete!

It's been a while!!!

I haven't blogged for a while, I didn't realise how long it had been! So here is a quick scrappy update!! I've had a bit of a break while I waited for my kits from My Creative Scrapbook to arrive, unfortunately its "that time of year" and they took 2 weeks to get here!! But they are here now and I'm busying myself with creating christmas pages :-) In the meantime though, I got a couple of layouts done for the North Swindon Craft Clubs November crop and the December class at Sparkle Dreams.

My Creative Scrapbook–November Kit Reveal!

The Creative kit this month is loaded with Jillibean Soup's Pasta Fagioli, beautiful autumnal colours and fabulous embellishments.

This first page is using photos that I took at Bourton on the Water, after a very chilly motorbike ride in October! The flower is made using ribbons, and there will be a tutorial for it in the Tips and Technique thread during the next few days.

For my next page I matted the papers onto brown cardstock to give them more impact. The photos of the owl were taken at Cotswold Wildlife Park a few years ago and I added part of the title onto the cute banner stickers from Jenni Bowlin which are included in the kit.

With my next page I drew around a shaped piece of paper as a template, to create the shaped background. I handmade the flowers using a scalloped punch, and changed the red buttons to brown by colouring over with a sharpie pen. This photo is from St.Martins Haven in Wales.

My last layout is of Rich and Hannah racing go-karts at Folly Farm in Wales on our holiday in July this year. With another handmade flower (tutorial will be in tips and techniques, as above) and chipboard flourishes that I coloured and covered in Glossy Accents.

And lastly 2 cards, one using a chipboard butterfly covered in paper and the other making paper roses.

PaperArts for the Second Time!

Yesterday I taught my second class at PaperArts near Stroud, I was so happy to have been asked back to teach. Fiona as always was the perfect host and she does make the most amazing cakes!!!! 16 ladies came from near and far to take my class and I had the joy of meeting another online friend Pippa who is just so lovely! I taught a class using Basic Grey Green at Heart papers and made a spiral flower from a 2" circle punch. Here is the finished page with a photo of Anna and me taken a few years ago at one of her Scrapping Angel Retreats.

Classes and more!

Last Wednesday myself Rachel and Di headed down to PaperArts for a Coffee and Crop day, I took one of my kits with me and a bundle of photos with the promise that I was going to scrap for myself for a change!! We had a lovely day and I scrapped just one page with a photo taken on Christmas Eve last year.

Also at the weekend I've been busy crafting away and created a page for Sparkle Dreams as a sample for a gorgeous Bo Bunny Kit they have for sale in the shop at just £9.99 which includes a gorgeous acrylic stamp too!!!!

Now for classes! On October 31st I am teaching a one-off special Halloween Class for Sparkle Dreams using the most gorgeous Glitz papers! All the details for the class can be found HERE.

And lastly my class for November for Sparkle Dreams is using Bo Bunny Peacock Lane papers and a fabulous technique that I learnt from the amazing Stacy Cohen using a Martha Stewart Punch! All the details for the class can be found HERE

I have a busy half term ahead with 2 halloween themed kids classes that I am teaching on Tuesday and Friday, plus on Friday the North Swindon Craft Club are having their October Crop and I am teaching a class there too with lots of tearing and inking!

Here are the details:-

Each month for 3 months beginning Oct.10 we will provide a sketch (designed by Julie Bonner) for you to create a LO. This means you will get a different Sketch in Oct, Nov and Dec to create a LO. There will be a different threads for each month to load your LOs for judging. There will be 3 winners and 3 prizes each month. The first winner will be chosen by the Design Team and then Pam will draw 2 random names for a prize... yes, each month. We ask that you only have one entry per month or per sketch. Everyone that creates a LO with all 3 sketches will be eligible for another PRIZE...yes...even another PRIZE......the "GRAND" Prize....and the winner for this will be randomly drawn. BUT to qualify for the Grand prize, you must upload pics of your LOs in the Grand prize thread, which will be available closer to December or the end of the challenges. Yes, the Grand Prize will be a random draw so it's anyone's game at this point. You may participate as much as you like, just as long as you have the correct sketch for the correct month uploaded in the right challenge thread...easy-peasy...and Remember if you get a late start then you can still be eligible for the Grand prize drawing as long as you do all 3 sketches and get them uploaded to the Grand prize thread by Jan. 10.

Now for the rules:-

* Winners will be judged on: use of the sketch, originality and design.
* International entries are welcome but will be responsible for postage.
* Only 1 Layout per participant per sketch, per month please.
* LOs must be newly made for this Contest. So don't use a LO that has been posted anywhere befor the contest begins each month.
* Upload your layouts in the Contest Thread and in the Contest Gallery for Judging

The first Contest begins today and ends November 10th (12.00pm est), so to be in with a chance of winning the prize above, join up at the message board (you don't have to be a kit subscriber) and get scrapping!!!

Its Kit Day with My Creative Scrapbook

I'm sure the months are flying by faster! Because its reveal day already for My Creative Scrapbook, with their stunning October Kits! This month I've been working with the awesome Creative Kit using Bo Bunny Learning Curve collection, mixed in with some Reminisce papers, and Jillibean Soup flowers. Pam wanted us to try and think out of the box with this kit and not just do school themed layouts, and this is what I came up with :-)

Autumn Workshop!

The North Swindon Craft Clubs first ever workshop was a wonderful day! 17 lovely ladies attended aswell as Jo and Kim from the 3 Jolly Scrappers with their amazing shop! I taught 2 classes, a layout class using Nikki Sivils "Sweet Cherry Pie" and a mini book class using Bo Bunny "Peacock Lane".

Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, and I have to say that I did too! It was a great day and I can't wait until the next one. I do want to say a BIG thank you to Nikki Sivils and Kaisercraft for their generosity and donations for the workshop, they helped to make the day as wonderful as it was. And a BIG thank you to Jo and Kim for travelling down to spend the day with us, I really appreciate it, and I know all the ladies did too :-) Here are some photos from the workshop (there are a few more on Facebook!)

PaperArts!!

I had a fantastic day at PaperArts on Saturday! I got to meet a wonderful group of ladies who were great fun and very talented scrappers too aswell as meeting PaperArts resident teacher Elaine Rolfe, who is lovely! I taught a distressing class aswell as those fabulous cardstock roses and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I'm really happy too as Fiona has asked me back to teach for her again on October 30th!

Here is the page I taught using a combination of Basic Grey Max & Whiskers and the Basic range papers. A big thank you to Fiona for having me at her shop for the day, and for the gorgeous cake too :-)

Where to Start???

This is such a busy month so far! Organising the Autumn Workshop for the North Swindon Craft Club, getting Sparkle Retreats live, plus classes and crops and kits!!!!!!

I'll start off by sharing a page I scrapped last week for Kirstys Wednesday Night Online Crop, the photo was taken at Millets farm in August (when the sun was shining!!!)

I'm sure you've seen through the shop blog or on Facebook, that Sparkle Dreams is running our very first retreat next year - Sparkle Retreats will be taking place on 7th, 8th and 9th October 2011 at Alexandra House, Wroughton, Swindon. All the details including who will be teaching the classes can be found HERE

Octobers class is now up on the Sparkle Dreams Blog, including dates and photo requirements. I have created an autumnal feel to this page by using oranges and browns from another gorgeous range of Jenni Bowlin.

I am really looking forward to the Autumn Workshop on the 2nd October! The sneak peeks have been emailed out to all the lovely ladies who have booked in for the day, and all I have left to do is pack the kits and between me and hubby get all the food ready! I am very grateful to Nikki Sivils for sponsoring me for one of my classes for the workshop, and have really enjoyed working with her products, I created my layout class with the Sweet Cherry Pie range, and it is stunning! The mini-book class is using Bo Bunny Peacock Lane, which I have to say is a gorgeous range, the colours are so striking! Jo and Kim from 3 Jolly Scrappers are coming to join us for the day and I can't wait to catch up with them both again. Here are the sneak peeks...

Also for North Swindon Craft Club, I am teaching at their crop this Friday, and teaching how to make gorgeous cardstock roses! Here is a sneak peek....

Last but not least I am teaching at PaperArts this Saturday (told you I was busy!!!!) and I am really looking forward to meeting a different group of scrapbookers including a lady who I've been on a message board with for quite a while now! I'll post the layout for this class once I've taught it ;-)

Anyone that knows me well, will know I'm usually working to a deadline or preparing a class, so when Kirsty announced she was going to run a few cyber crops on a Wednesday night, I thought "why not"! She provides a sketch and/or a list of items to use. The choice is yours whether you do just the sketch, or try and incorporate the list of items too. I have to say I have loved scrapping for myself, which I so rarely get to do, and will definitely try and make more time to do some more in the future. Here are my layouts from the past 2 weeks.

My Creative Scrapbook - September Reveal!

September is here already, and with the kids safely back at school, hopefully everyone has a bit more time to scrap again! This month Pam has a few extra of the Main Kits for sale, so if you fancy yourself a gorgeous kit packed with MME Lost and Found and Fancy Pants Wishful Thinking, head over to the website now! I got to play with the Album Kit this month, which was jam packed full of the bright and funky Imaginisce Birthday Bash papers, rub-ons, ribbons, banners plus so much more! I had great fun digging out old birthday photos and pairing them up with this gorgeous kit!! Here are all my projects for this month!!

Also, coming VERY soon is going to be a fantastic scrapbooking contest on the Message Board, and I think there maybe some Prima up for grabs, knowing Pam and her prizes it will be worth checking out!!!

Once again Liz asked me to work with one of her fabulous sketches over at My Little Sketch Blook. I'd been waiting to scrap a photo of me with my new camera (my profile pic on Facebook), that Jack had taken of me when we were at Goodwood Festival of Speed back in July. I'd also been saving the Bo Bunny papers especially! So this was just perfect timing :-)

Classes coming up soon.....

With the summer holidays almost over already I am busy planning ahead! The first layout is for the North Swindon Craft Clubs August Crop, where we are going to have a play with Cosmic Shimmer Mist and making some fun flowers.

The second page is my September class for Sparkle Dreams, using some gorgeous Jenni Bowlin papers, a tree branch cut from the Cricut and an embossing punch. The dates and details for this class is on the Sparkle Dreams blog. I created this page using a gorgeous sketch I had hidden away on my computer, I just wish I could remember who had designed it so I could credit them!

And lastly here is a page I forgot to share! An interactive page that I taught at Julys North Swindon Craft Clubs Crop, I took the idea from a page in Volume 2 of Scrapbook Inspirations Idea Book!

Now I am working on a page for My Little Sketch Blook as I am a guest designer over there this month, and waiting for my kits to arrive from My Creative Scrapbook!

Quick Update

Its been a while since I last blogged! Since my last post we've had a family holiday and now the kids are on their summer holidays.

While I was away Start Me Up went live with Guest Designer Wendy Sommers. The challenge was to use a song title/lyrics to capture something/someone that is near and dear to you. I scrapped a baby photo of Jack yelling! Which is something he's never stopped doing LOL, he's always been loud :-)

Our holiday was fabulous, and we spent 4 days travelling along the south west coast of Wales, visiting lots of places and staying somewhere different each night. The kids really enjoyed it, and as with most holidays it was all over too soon. I took over 400 photos during the week, and you'll be seeing lots of my holiday photos over the coming months on my pages I am sure!

Workshop Update

The North Swindon Craft Club will be moving their workshop to October. We are waiting for confirmation from the hall, but we are hoping to run the day on October 2nd 2010 instead.

It will be a full day of scrapbooking from 10.30am-4.30pm, with 2 classes a buffet lunch and refreshments during the day fo just £30!!! A £15 deposit will secure your place. I will update again once I have a definite confirmation for the date.

Its that time again, and today the July Kit Reveal has taken place over at My Creative Scrapbook. Another 3 amazing kits plus the Limited Edition kit too.

I got to work with the Album Kit this month, full of gorgeous Fancy Pants and Pink Paislee papers and embellishments. The DT gallery is amazing as always, so please find 5 minutes to go and have a look!!

Its the next reveal for Start Me Up! This challenge is to create a masculine page using flowers, any type you like. The DT have come up with some gorgeous layouts, go take a look, there are some really good ideas.

I scrapped a photo of Jack, coming down the slide at Folly Farm in Wales. And coloured the chipboard frame using Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

Summer Workshop

The North Swindon Craft Club is having an all day Summer Workshop on 14th August 2010 at St.Marys Church Hall, Rodbourne in Swindon from 10.30am - 4.30pm

I will be teaching 2 classes, a layout class and a mini-book class. The cost for the day is £30 which includes a buffet lunch and refreshments. I am hoping to have a shop there too, which I am still working on :-)

Butterfly Crafts - June Written Challenge

Scrapping Angels Retreat

The Scrapping Angels Retreat was a wonderful weekend! There were 4 teachers all together, me, Anna Bowkis, Tracie Hudson and Michelle Jackson-Mogford (MJM). All the classes were a huge success and we all brought something completely different for the delegates to make. I do believe if you keep your eye HERE there will be some spare kits going up for sale very soon from the above classes.

I taught 2 classes, a layout class with handstitching, Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage and Calico.

And a Flag Mini Book class using Kaisercrafts Empire range of papers and embellishments.

I took a fair few photos during the weekend, so I will leave you with some of them, from pics of me with friends and some that I took during my classes.

A few days late, but here at last is June 12ths Challenge Reveal or Start Me Up! Our Guest Designer is Jessi Lute, who came up with this challenge...

"the things that make him, him........those little things that endear him to your heart" - so that could be a title or journaling prompts.

I chose to scrap a photo of Jack and journal the things we love about him :-)

I've been away all weekend teaching at the Scrapping Angels Retreat. It was a wonderful weekend, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It was also so nice to catch up with old friends and of course make new ones too. I took LOTS of photos and I will be back later on this week with a post all about it!!!

Sneak Peek Time!

The June Kits are going to be revealed on the 5th June, but for now here are my sneak peeks for the Creative Kit for My Creative Scrapbook!

Also, if you're a Scrapbook Trends fan, you'll have noticed that the last 2 issues never made it to print. Apparently there is a temporary glitch with the printers, so the last 2 issues are online instead. I had 2 layouts published, one in the April issue and one in the May, you can find them HERE and HERE. If you've got some time take a look through both issues, there is some gorgeous layouts and mini books in there, and its free to look, you don't have to sign up for anything either. Summer Workshop!

The North Swindon Craft Club will be holding its very first Summer Workshop on Saturday August 14th, from 10.30-4.30pm. It will be held at St.Marys Church Hall, Rodbourne, Swindon.

The cost for the day will be £30, which includes 2 classes, kits and a buffet lunch. Refreshments are available throughout the day.

Bikes, Photos and Challenges

On Friday after a shaky start, and a trip to A&E with Jack (who is fine!) Rich and I headed out on the bike, camera in the top box, for a trip around our local area and an opportunity for me to take some photos with my new camera!

We rode out to Coleshill, and walked along the river, and then headed out to Lechlade and sat by the lock. After that we headed to Badbury Clump and then over to Stanton Park. We had a lovely morning, and I managed to get a few good photos. Although I think I need a whole lot of practice before I get the hang of this SLR!!!

As for scrapbooking, Start Me Up has gone live with a brand new challenge today, to scrap in Black and White! Our Guest Designer Leica Forrest has created a stunning layout, and the DT have produced some amazing work! Don't forget to link your work up to the blog so we can come and see what you've created!! New challenges have gone live on Butterfly Crafts and Start Me Up this weekend!

First of all Butterfly Crafts have a recipe challenge and the chance to win this fabulous prize from Nikki Sivils, our sponsor this month.

Upload your layouts and link to the blog by 31st May to be in with a chance. I used 7 items from the list and created this page with photos from a visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park last year.

Over at Start Me Up our May Guest Designer is the very talented Leslie Ashe who challenge the DT to create a page out of our comfort zone!! I decided to work with cardstock only - gasp - but actually quite enjoyed it. My inspiration for my page came from the Pencil Lines Book and a layout by Christiane Muller. For a small piece of my cardstock, I coloured it using Cosmic Shimmer Mist and Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

Random Scraps

Last week a group of us took a trip out to PaperArts in Brimscombe, near Stroud for a day of cropping and shopping! It was the first time in a long time that I'd sat down and scrapped for myself (Jackie had banned me from taking any work along, so I had no choice LOL). So I took along a kit that I'd bought to scrap a photo of the kids. We had a lovely day, and I did buy a few things and can't wait till we do it again! Here is what I created :-)

Two other layout I've created lately, are for kits that are being sold in Sparkle Dreams! If you're quick you'll get yourself a gorgeous kit, with instruction to make my layout, or create your own page if you choose. I had great fun creating with the Crate Paper and the MME papers, here are my pages.

First Reveal and NSD

For National Scrapbooking Day Tamara from Sketches! {by tamara} asked me to create a page using one of her fabulous sketches. I've used a past kit from My Creative Scrapbook and added in some KI Memories Lace Cardstock.

Also for the 1st May Start Me Up had their first reveal, with Guest Designer Melody Ross!!! This month the challenge is to get "hip with Chip" and use our chipboard on our pages, by painting, inking, misted or covered, or some other way completely. I inked my raw chipboard letters using Tim Holtz Distress Inks, to attempt a grungy feel for Jacks skateboard photo!!! Another event for 1st May was Sparkle Dreams Re-launch party! The shop has now been extended and we have a dedicated teaching area and a drop in and crop bar too. People flocked to the shop yesterday to join us in celebrating with pink fizz and cupcakes. So a BIG thank you to everyone that came, and we hope to see you soon and our classes and at hope you take advantage of our wonderful crop bar too!

A quick post........

Its been a while since I last blogged! But if I'm honest there hasn't been anything to blog about. I am busy working away on various projects, but none that can be shared yet apart from this one which I'm going to teach at North Swindon Craft Club this coming friday, using a mix of Basic Grey and Pink Paislee papers, and a photo taken by Anna Bowkis.

There is plenty going on at the shop right now, Sparkle Dreams is expanding!!! We are going to have 2 extra units as a dedicated class area, and the official launch is on May 1st at 10am, with cupcakes and pink fizz. Everyone is invited to come along and celebrate with us.

You may or not have heard but poor Anna, Sue and their families were one of the unlucky ones to be stranded after the volcanic ash caused flight disruptions. Because of this the Scrapping Angels Retreat had to be cancelled. but is due to be re-scheduled on Annas return.

Remember Start Me Up's first challenge goes live on May 1st, so check back then to see what I came up with.

As its 15th of the month Butterfly Crafts Written Challenge has gone live! This month the topic is spring and we want to see what spring signifies for you. And if you join in the challenge you get a chance to win this prize from All Things Chula

A brand new challenge blog has been launched called "Start Me Up" . The blog will run 2 challenges a month where you get to scrapbook the men in your life, whether its husbands, sons, brothers, fathers or grandfathers. Absolutely any man in your life that inspires you to scrap!! Patti and Karan kindly asked me to join their Design Team at Start Me Up and I am really looking forward to getting started on the challenges. The first one will go live on 1st May!

This has come at the perfect time, as my term now ends with xoxOGirls at the end of April, so watch out for a Design Team Call over there very soon! But don't forget you still have time to join in the challenges there and be in with a chance to win this prize from Snobby Walrus

First Sneak!

I am sharing with you a sneak peek of my layout class that I'll be teaching at the Scrapping Angels Retreat at the end of the month (places still available!). This is a stitching class with lots of layering and inking using the gorgeous Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage papers and embellishments.

I am really looking forward to the retreat, and to see some old friends and new too! Keep your eyes peeled as another sneak of my Flip Mini Book class will be here soon.......

My Creative Scrapbooks reveal day is here again, and this month we have 4 more gorgeous kits! I worked with the Creative (mini) kit this month with fabulous Bella Blvd papers and embellishments! Here is what I've created........

So April is here in a blink of an eye! And to start the month Team X from xoxOGirls have created more gorgeous layouts for you to scraplift, below is my contribution! Using a mix of yellows and blues, and some photos of Hannah and me.

Secondly I wanted to share with you this layout that I am teaching at Sparkle Dreams throughout April ( just noticed that they are both the same shape LOL). Class dates are 17th, 21st and 27th from 10.30-12.30pm. Cost is £10 which includes all your materials, you just need a basic tool kit! Time to Crop!

Its the monthly crop again tomorrow night for the North Swindon Craft Club. I've created a page with pinwheels to teach everyone. I've used Basic Grey Cupcake papers, so to make the pinwheels I had to glue 2 different papers back to back to give me double sided paper!

The crop is running from 7.30pm at St.Marys Church Hall in Rodbourne, Swindon. We have plenty of space if anyone would like to come. A class is only £5 and you use your own supplies so you can create a page and use your stash up! For more info you can contact northswindoncraft@googlemail.com

Time to Retreat!!

How do you fancy a relaxing weekend away here?? Well you can still get one, if you're quick!!! The Scrapping Angels Retreat is taking place on the weekend of 24th-25th April at Wyboston Lakes, Cambridgeshire.

You will have a full day, or a whole weekend (your choice) of creativity, education. fun, shopping and great food, in stunning surroundings. There will be a choice of 8 classes over the weekend, and lots of fun make and takes, which will be taught by:-
